Gawker Media Roofgarden Installation 2010
“Purora”
Hosted by Gawker Artists and presented by SmartWater
On July 27, 2010 the roofgarden of the Gawker Media NYC headquarters was the stage for
a multi-sensorial performance and installation incorporating light, sound and an array of fantastically customized,
wallpapered walls. The walls emitted patterns of light in synchronization with a highly
orchestrated musical performance that began at sunset. The intent of
Purora was to explore the notion of transcendence, as a communal phenomenon
through a hyperreal environment emphasizing a heightened sense of physical
awareness.
